S
tartSomeGood leverages the power of the crowd to empower people from around the world to become social innovators. The organisation take lessons learned from arts crowd-funding platforms and apply them to supporting social entrepreneurs. By building upon this existing model, StartSomeGood have created a platform that caters to the unique needs of starting a social enterprise. StartSomeGood accepts non and for profit entities, as long as they are creating positive social impact.
‘Tipping Point’ Fundraising Model
‘Tipping point’ fundraising model is where Social Entrepreneurs choose the amount of money necessary to start doing some good, called a tipping point, and fundraise until this point is achieved in an all or nothing fashion. The supporters who pledge funds are only charged if the tipping point is reached prior to the deadline. The tipping point can be between 25 – 100% of the total goal, and funs raised within the deadline that are above the tipping point can be kept the venture.
Spacecubed and StartSomeGood have a mutually beneficial partnership, which will provide tools for success for all members of Spacecubed, as well as StartSomeGood featuring Spacecubed on their website, which will in turn showcase the space and its community to social entrepreneurs all around the world.
